Premier League is back! After Bundesliga, EPL season all set to restart from June 1 as govt gives green light..

Following the footsteps of the German Bundesliga, English top-flight - the English Premier League (EPL) has reportedly received the green light to resume the 2019-2020 season after the United Kingdom government released their post-COVID-19 lockdown plans. Every major sporting spectacle has been either cancelled or postponed to a forthcoming date ever since the deadly coronavirus outbreak was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO) earlier in March this year.

With the entire world brought to a grinding halt, the German Bundesliga recently became the first top league in European football to end the sports hiatus amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Taking cues from the Bundesliga, the English top-flight is expected to resume the coronavirus-affected season from June 1. According to a report filed by GOAL.com, the latest lockdown plans suggested by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson have paved the way for the Premier League to resume the 2019-20 season latest by next month.

The recent developments have come after the UK government shared a lockdown guide comprising social distancing measures to resume the sporting activities across the nation. Thus, all Premier League matches will be played behind closed doors with no spectators present inside the stadium premises if the league action resumes next month.
