Spain Midfielder Xabi Alonso Insists Iker Casillas Is The Same As Ever

Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso has defended team-mate Iker Casillas declaring that there is nothing to worry about after a below par performance from the Real Madrid shot stopper in the win over Saudi Arabia at the weekend.

Casillas was scathing in his criticism of the match ball since the narrow friendly win but while Alonso sees his captain no different, he insists that everyone just has to grow accustomed to the controversial ball.

"I see him [Casillas] the same as always, raring to go," Alonso was quoted as saying by AS.



"We have to get used to the trajectories [of the ball], but as the days pass by I am sure that we will feel more comfortable."

Spain open their World Cup account against Switzerland on June 16.
